What is MBSR
MBSR is the abbreviation of "Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction" and is translated as "stress management through mindfulness".
MBSR was developed in 1979 by Prof. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and is being offered in many clinical, social and educational institutions and in companies throughout the USA and Europe with great success. Central to the MBSR program is the promotion of mindfulness , which is the ability to be and stay in touch with the current experience without getting lost in thoughts, judgments, worries, or fears. Through regular practice of mindfulness, MBSR promotes well-being and a more conscious handling of stress in everyday life. In addition, mindfulness contributes to a better quality of life and personal development.
